Upon successful completion, students receive a state-approved certificate of completion for the Basic Firearm Safety Course, which is required when submitting a Connecticut pistol permit application.

Having a criminal record does not necessarily prevent you from taking the course, but it may affect your eligibility to obtain a Connecticut Pistol Permit. Connecticut law contains several disqualifying conditions, including certain felony convictions, misdemeanor crimes of domestic violence, serious juvenile offenses, and specified misdemeanor convictions. Some misdemeanor disqualifiers apply for a defined period of time. If you have a criminal history and are unsure about your eligibility, please contact us before registering. We can help direct you to the appropriate state resources, but final eligibility decisions are made by the applicable issuing authority and DESPP.
All of our courses, materials, and written exams are conducted entirely in English. This reflects the real-world demands of the certifications we offer. Security officers, armed guards, and pistol permit holders must be able to read, write, and communicate in English independently — on the job, in the field, and in legal situations.

Refunds
Goldeneye Training Academy has a No Refunds Policy. A transferable credit toward a future class or service may be approved by Goldeneye Training Academy on a case-by-case basis.
Participant Cancellations – More Than 7 Days Before the Scheduled Class or Service:
No refund will be issued. Funds may be transferred to a different class or service without an additional rescheduling fee.
Participant Cancellations – Less Than 7 Days Before the Scheduled Class or Service:
No refund will be issued, and a $60 rescheduling fee will apply to the future/subsequent scheduled class or service. If the participant cancels less than 7 days before the scheduled date a second time for the same class or service, all monies paid toward that class or service will be forfeited.
Cancellations by Goldeneye Training Academy:
If Goldeneye Training Academy cancels a class or service, the participant will receive a transferable credit toward a future class or service without an additional fee.
No-Show Policy:
No-shows will result in forfeiture of all monies paid toward the class or service unless otherwise agreed to in writing by Goldeneye Training Academy.

Goldeneye Training Academy offers regularly scheduled CT pistol permit classes to accommodate busy schedules. Class size is limited to ensure individual attention during both classroom and live fire portions.
Certain individuals may be exempt from taking a Connecticut pistol permit course, including:
Active or retired law enforcement officers
Qualified military veterans
Exemptions are determined by Connecticut law and issuing authorities. Documentation is typically required. If you believe you may qualify for an exemption, we recommend confirming directly with your local issuing authority or contacting us for general guidance.
This course does:
Provide required training for a Connecticut pistol permit application
Issue a state-approved pistol permit training certificate
This course does not:
Guarantee issuance of a pistol permit
Submit your application on your behalf
Influence approval decisions made by local or state authorities
